Ahmed Arif

I am a Principal at Support Legal (www.supportlegal.com), a NewLaw provider of world class legal advice, delivered by expert lawyers with more than 10 years’ experience gained at the world’s top firms, at an accessible, fixed price point and deployed using cutting-edge legal technology. I joined Support Legal from Freshfields, where I spent over 10 years. I specialise in M&A, advising both strategic and financial investors (including banks, family owned business and international and regional private equity houses) across the Middle East, north and east Africa, Turkey and south east Asia.

Asma Al Qaseer

Asma joined twofour54 in 2016 as an Investment Analyst and currently leads the Investments and Strategic Partnerships Department. Through her role, Asma works with and guides entrepreneurs and start-up companies that specialize in technology and content creation by offering advice and support as these businesses grow across the media and entertainment sector in the region.

Prior to joining twofour54, Asma held a position for two years as a Coverage Associate at BNP Paribas where she gained tremendous knowledge about large family conglomerates. During her time at BNP Paribas, Asma guided corporate bankers through credit processes, calculating risks and identifying business and marketing opportunities.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Management and Operations from the American University of Sharjah.

Daniel Silvestre Dos Reis

Daniel is the Senior Portfolio Manager of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority managing the venture capital investment portfolio. Before he joined Dubai Silicon Oasis in 2015, Daniel worked for Etisalat Group in Saudi Arabia, where he setup and managed the Corporate Venture Capital unit of Etihad Etisalat. He led investments in companies like Anghami, Fetchr, Easy Taxi, Step Group and 360MEA. Daniel has 13 years of professional work experience in Management Consulting and Venture Capital. He describes himself as a Business Technologist who is both IT and Business savvy and enjoys working with innovative tech startups. He has earned a Diploma Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg in 2004.

Karim Shiyab

Karim is the founder and CEO of Legalintro. With more than 10 years’ experience as a commercial and banking lawyer in the Middle East, Karim is intimately familiar with the UAE and wider GCC legal landscape.
He holds a Masters in Commercial Law from Sheffield University, and prior to founding Legalintro, served as Senior Associate at Al Tamimi & Co.
Karim has spent over a decade managing relationships with clients and industry peers, and enjoys a strong reputation and vast professional network across the region.

Founder and Managing Director of UBRIK Media. Over the past 10 years, Monash has worked with over a 100 clients, driving 10s of millions of dollars worth of leads & revenue. UBRIK helps businesses grow their bottom line through Content, Performance Media and Marketing Automation.

Nizar Fakih

Nizar is the co-founder of STEP Group, one of the hottest new media companies for Arab millennials. STEP Group has launched STEP Conference, the largest tech and interactive gathering in the Middle East, StepFeed and YallaFeed, the English and Arabic content and video platforms that have grown to over 3M monthly users and 70M monthly views in less than two years. He studied Engineering at the American University of Beirut and holds an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid with a focus on Sports Management. He has lived in 6 different countries, speaks 5 different languages and is intrigued by all ideas that drive the modern world: political, social, economical and cultural. He spends a lot of time traveling, watching sports and movies, and reading about almost everything he bumps into.

Omar Kandil

Omar Kandil is currently with Step Group working on the development of the du Emirati Startup Challenge. He previously worked at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dubai and as Program Manager of Flat6Labs Abu Dhabi, where he oversaw the acceleration program for a portfolio of tech startup companies. Omar is a mentor with various regional and global accelerators where he focuses on strategy, pitch training and business development. He also held various positions in Fortune 500 Companies such as Procter & Gamble and JLL. He is Egyptian-French and holds a Masters in Public Policy. Omar is also a public speaking coach to university students, corporates and startups.

Rami Panayoti

Rami has been active in venture capital for over 3 years across MENA with Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), MENA’s largest venture capital firm with $200M+ in AuMs. Throughout his time at MEVP, Rami has assessed over 200 companies and built investment memorandums for more than 20 prominent startups.

He also sits on the board of Zoomaal, MENA’s leading crowdfunding platform and is part-time COO of a stealth-mode travel technology startup.

Prior to joining MEVP, Rami had extensive experience in the Lebanese entrepreneurship ecosystem. Rami co-founded 2 different organizations (Entrepreneurship Club, and Lebanese Entrepreneurs), one of which grew to become an NGO with 500+ members across 3 university chapters.

He also organized many entrepreneurial workshops and events, such as the first, massively successful Startup Weekend in Beirut.

Rami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut.

Sheyaf Hashim

Dubai born and raised. Sheyaf’s career spans almost a decade in verticals like aviation, banking, non-profit, creative, design and marketing. He has been a co-founder of 4 Business, 3 of which failed.

Being an entrepreneur he has learned what works and doesn’t for businesses, now he mentors other entrepreneurs, and helps businesses grow. He is currently a managing partner at UBRIK Media, A Inbound Marketing Agency based in Dubai Media City.

William Huston

Having launched Disney Studios into social media years ago, Will now leads LMTD’s social media offering. As founder and CEO, his extensive experience in all forms of digital development, media & social media makes it happen.

Yousuf AlMulla

Yousuf AlMulla is a senior executive specialized in corporate strategy, operations and corporate finance. He has a wealth of experience from his entrepreneurial and corporate background and government roles and has contributed to the development of many strategic projects in UAE. For the last five years, Yousuf has been the Chief Strategy Officer at one of the largest conglomerate in the region where he focused on corporate governance, innovation & digitalization, strategy & business plan development, and risk management. In 2008, he was part of the team at The Executive Council of Dubai that setup The Consulting Office, later named TCO Management Consulting. Appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2010- 2012, he leveraged his entrepreneurial expertise to lead the company in achieving its vision and developing its 2012-2015 growth strategy. He also advised senior leadership in the Dubai government and the UAE federal government on high-level strategic and innovation projects.

He currently serves on board of Endeavor UAE, E11 Capital (a VC based in San Francisco), Kairos Society (global startup platform based in NYC), and 55FiftyFive Diamond Design Studio (jewelry design startup in Dubai). Moreover, he is involved with several strategic government initiatives to promote and enhance entrepreneurship ecosystem in UAE.

AlMulla holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD, Masters in Public Administration from Lee Kuan School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a BSc in Business Administration with concentration in Corporate Finance from Marshall Business School at University of Southern California (USC).

Bahaa Moussali

Bahaa is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of STEP Group, a new media company focused on social news, entertainment and events. The company started with entrepreneurship workshops in Beirut which became the region’s leading experiential tech and digital conference – STEP Conference happens in annually in Dubai. STEP also owns Stepfeed.com and Yallafeed.com which are news and entertainment digital platforms talking to third culture Arab millennials. Bahaa leads on the strategy, distribution and marketing of all properties within the company and numbers achieved so far are 3M+ unique users, 50M+ video views and 6,000 conference attendees.

Sveccha Kumar

Sveccha has over 8 years of experience across global and regional organisations in sustainability/ CSR and communications related roles.

In her current role, Sveccha is responsible for the delivery and management of communications for the 2000 colleagues who work at du. Her scope of work includes liaising with various departments across the company, using communications to raise awareness, foster employee happiness and loyalty.

Prior to this, Sveccha looked after the company’s overall sustainability programme, including strategic advisory to stakeholders and delivery of key community engagement initiatives, particularly related to education and entrepreneurship.

Outside of work, Sveccha is very involved in volunteer work, including leading on the Communications Committee of e7 – Daughters of the Emirates, a women’s empowerment initiative based in the UAE.
